MIDC - Taloja CETP

MPCB had given Directives to MIDC to upgrade and expand this CETP, where phase I was commissioned in 1999 and phase II in 2004. When Aqua took over this CETP, various equipment were corroded and there was tons of sludge accumulation in various RCC tanks. MIDC following the due tendering process had awarded the contract for the work of Rehabilitation,Up gradation & Expansion of Common Effluent Treatment Plant from 22.5 MLD to 27.5 MLD along with Operation & Maintenance of plant for M/s. Taloja CETP Co. Op. Society Ltd., MIDC. Taloja Industrial Area, to M/s. KDC – AQUA (JV), Mumbai.

CETP consists of Primary Treatment, Anoxic followed by Aeration/ Secondary treatment with advance technology equipment, Instrumentation, OCEMS, PLC/SCADA system.

For such large sized complex treatment plant it is necessary to ensure it’s success once installed. This is more important for an intricately designed Common Effluent Treatment Plant with varying effluent characteristics

This can be done by providing a pilot plant of reasonable capacity and running it for a few months. This approach was adopted at Taloja CETP by constructing and running a pilot plant of 1 KL/Hour

During the expansion / upgradation of  Taloja CETP from 22.5 to 27.5 in 2005; AQUA after completion of Treatability Studies and finalization of detail plant design; AQUA had built this full fledge functional pilot plat to test the viability of final treatment process.

The results of the pilot plant were recorded and those pilot results validated the design of the CETP. This gave confidence to the project team and assurance about the success of the CETP.

M/s. KDC – AQUA (JV) completed the project work under stringent supervision of Consultant CH2M, MIDC along with NGT committee. NGT committee had appreciated KDC – AQUA (JV) for completion of work as per schedule despite of restrictions imposed during pandemic COVID 19 lock-down situation as well as cyclonic inclement weather conditions..

KDC – AQUA ( JV) from November 2018 is carrying Operation & Maintenance of CETP with marked improvement of Treated effluent parameters that meets standards of MPCB.
